The other day Kellan Lutz twitpic'd a photo of himself, Rami Malek (Benjamin) and Casey LeBow (Kate) spending the day being saints in NOLA & building houses for the St. Bernard Project. The St. Bernard Project builds homes in post-Katrina Louisiana. They routinely partner with other well-known organizations such as Americorps and the United Way

Here’s the link to the fund Rami and Kellan are supporting.

In this press release the “Get on the Float” describes their mission:

Get on the Float — Help SBP rebuild 20 families’ homes and raise $ 350,000 this Mardi Gras Season.

Carnival season is New Orleans’ biggest time of year. Hundreds of thousands of travelers from around the globe descend upon the CrescentCity for the celebration that is Mardi Gras.

While most travelers storm the French Quarter, the real celebration is happening with in families and homes across the city. Additionally, this time of year is steeped in tradition. The parades, the costumes, the masks, the krewes…it’s all been around for generations.

“For the residents of New Orleans, Mardi Gras is not about beer and beads. It’s about tradition and family. I am truly blessed to be able to enjoy both this year,” says recently returned SBP homeowner Tina Meshell. Lifetime New Orleanian and SBP employee Whitney Craig says, “Even if you haven’t seen your family in awhile, you still know where they’ll be for Mardi Gras.”

But since Hurricane Katrina, 10,000-20,000 caretakers of these celebratory traditions haven’t been where they are supposed to be for Mardi Gras. For 5 years, they haven’t been able to participate in the festivities that are so crucial to their New Orleans identity.

As all of these New Orleans homeowners know, one of the biggest honors of Mardi Gras is riding on the float for the parades. This year, in tribute to this tradition, St. Bernard Project invites you to Get on the Float this Mardi Gras season and help these families still in need.

There are 2 easy ways to Get on the Float: Volunteer or Donate. In the following two months, SBP plans to get enough people “on our float” to return 20 families home and raise $350,000.

All supporters who Get on the Float this Mardi Gras season will be placed on our website. Additionally, we will have a make shift float in our offices where each float member will have their name displayed, so anyone who walks in our door can see your support for SBP.
So, who are you going to ride with this Mardi Gras season? Get on the Float with SBP and DONATE or VOLUNTEER to help deserving New Orleans families return home.

Andrea Gabriel (aka Kebi the love interest of Amun played by Omar Metwally) talked to Hit Rock Bottom about her career on “Lost” and what it’s like to be a new vamp on the block.

Let's talk about your next "big break", Breaking Dawn - how'd you get involved in that?
Well, I auditioned... again.  It was just a good audition - and I think I found out about that in August, and they didn't make the announcements for the Covens because they have A LOT of Covens in this one.  I don't think I'm releasing any spoilers because the books have been published - I'm not sure what's in the book and what's in the script, but it's - for people who love the books... this is seriously... they are going all out, this is prom.  You know what I mean?  [laughs] This is formal.

You guys are filming part one and part two at the same time?
Yeah, they're doing them at the same time.

Does that make for long days?
Yeah, you're only doing one unit at a time.  I think that it can get confusing [laughs], but they have it organized - I couldn't do it, what they're doing with all of the scheduling and all of the green screening, there's a lot of detail in this stuff.  Way more than LOST, I was never aware in LOST that there was any
CGI going on - if they did CGI later, it was surprising... and I was like "Oh, I didn't know they were going to do that."  Like when were in solitary doing the stuff in Iraq - all of that was real, but then in one sequence when he's [Sayid] walking on army base and actually one one side of the army base it looks exactly like it does, but on the other side has all of this lush foliage because it's Hawaii - and they were real army barracks from World War II.  So the other side they CGI'd out to make it desert - that had nothing to do with my acting, it had nothing to do with what I was doing.  So it was really funny having to act with stuff that is not there - I've never done that before.

Let's get to the first Twitter question...
Oh, cool.

@Twilightfreak72 wanted to know what it was like on the set of Breaking Dawn - and what was your favorite part of playing a vampire?
[laughs] It's a lot of fun - the vampires are a blast... all of the people who are in this cast... it's a wonderful group, and it's very diverse.  Just like there's not two of any one kind - it's a real bonding experience because we're all in the same boat, we're all on location and our families, our homes and our pets are all [laughs] very far away.  So it does feel like camp.  And then, my favorite part of playing a vampire is... I guess just being a badass. [laughs]

Are you wearing a lot of makeup in this role?
Not a lot, no.  There's certain vampire traits that I have, but no... I mean these are hot vampires. [laughs] These are runway vampires, they're very stylish, they're very cool... there's not a bad looking one in it that I can see. [laughs] I think this vampire thing is a good racket if you can get it because they're going to surrounded by hot co-workers.

Is this a physical role?
Mine's not, no.  There are some very physical roles - mine is not as physical as some of them.  Yeah, there's going to be a ton of action in this - that's part of what they're working on right now.  It's going to be like crazy... crazy action.

Another Twitter question, TwiLifeLover wanted to know: Did you really enjoy working with the cast?  Was it easy?  And were they funny?
[laughs] Yes... yes... and yes.  [laughs] Yeah, I'm having a great time - and everybody is hilarious.  There's some very clever... we laugh a lot... we laugh a lot.  We have little inside vampire jokes, it's a lot of fun.

And most of the cast is a lot younger than you.
Um, it depends.  The main characters are younger, yeah, but as for the vampires they kind of run the gambit.  There are a few in my age range, there are few in their early twenties, and then there are a few that are older.  But the main characters - it's geared towards the kids.

One last Twitter question, _Cammie_ wanted to know what you thought about Mackenzie Foy?
Oh, she's awesome.  She's really... really... really cool.  She's VERY smart, and she's really precocious - and not precocious in a showy kind of way that sometimes kid actors can be - you can tell that she is very wise.  And wise beyond her years.  And she [laughs] complains less than anybody [laughs] on the set... the adults tend to whine more than she does.  She's quite a trooper with a great attitude all of the time.  She's really wonder and really pretty - she's going to be a stunner.

Since the cast has been together for a while now, were you worried about being the newcomer?
Well, yeah... they're all pretty well bonded so it's just like showing up at a new job or a new school - and since I've guest starred on a lot of shows I kind of know what it feels like to step into that situation.  And usually people are very welcoming to newcomers.  It's a long process, so it's almost like you've become accustomed to each other - you become part of the gang.

Ashley Greene graces the covers of Teen Vogue as well as a beautiful photo shoot and lengthy interview. They’re also running a contest where you can win to spend a day with her!

"I'm very much a girl that likes to have options," she explains. "That's the way I am with fashion, and that's the way I am with my life. In California, I do like to just chill out and go to the beach, but I love the energy here. I feel very productive when I'm in New York."

And being productive, she says, is key to her current definition of happiness. "I'm a bit of a workaholic," Ashley explains. Despite her earnest admission that success in Hollywood does have its downsides, she loves her job. "When I feel like I'm not doing something, it drives me insane," she says. Part of the urgency seems to come from Ashley's sense that she's at a sort of magic moment in her career, on the cusp of the kind of megafame that her costar Kristen Stewart found with the release of the first Twilightfilm. "This industry never stops," she says. "Right now I'm in this amazing place, and there are open doors. I think it would be foolish to take a month off. So many people would kill to be in my shoes that it's just bad karma!"

Ashley has no fewer than five films slated for release this year, starting with 1983-set coming-of-age story Skateland, which premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival and hits theaters this month. "I play Michelle, who's about to graduate from high school," she says, "and I'm kind of facing the ups and downs of that. I think it's a very relatable film—we have love, loss, and heartbreak." She's even more excited about her turn in the upcoming comedy Butter, in which she appears opposite Jennifer Garner and Olivia Wilde. "It's about butter carving, which, really, you have to Google," she says. "People take these huge chunks of butter, as tall as me, and carve intricate things into them; it's mind-blowing. I'd never heard of it when I read the script, and I remember asking my manager, 'How do writers make this stuff up?' But it actually exists." In the movie, Ashley says, she plays a "typical rebellious teenager who goes from plain vanilla to basically being a stripper. It sounds ridiculous but it's going to be really funny."

She also stars with Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus in the upcoming comedy LOL. "I'm kind of like a bad girl in that film," she says. "It's a really big departure from Alice"—the sweet-natured, clairvoyant vampire she'll play again in November's Breaking Dawn Part I—"and as much as I love that character, I'm excited for people to see a bit of my range." Ashley says she got along surprisingly well with eighteen-year-old Miley. "She's young, but we could relate to each other because she's probably been through as much as a 40-year-old!"
Take Joe himself, for example. At 21, the former child star certainly seems to be doing well. Talk of him, too, was meant to be verboten, but Ashley seems happy to share her happiness. "We have a traveling relationship," she says. "We met through mutual friends in London, which is crazy because we both live in L.A. And we've already met each other's parents, which I think is a good result of the kind of lifestyle we live. He's sweet and really funny, which is huge for me." They've doubtless not been able to see each other as much as they might like, with Ashley shooting the last two Twilight movies, but she says that she likes to spend her limited free time cooking—with him. "I've got this amazing kitchen, and he's getting me into it. It's really nice and almost therapeutic; we put on music and just kind of go into this zone."

Wisely, Ashley is utterly unconcerned about what Joe's lovesick young fans might think of their romance. "There's always going to be anti in this industry," she says brightly. "But the thing is, I have dealt with anti before our relationship, and I will always have to deal with it. There will always be people who love me or hate me. That's why I try to focus on the positive." Growing up in Jacksonville, she recalls, "I just didn't know what I could do. I didn't think that I'd ever wear these amazing clothes, and I didn't think I would be an actress. Now," she says, "I've realized that I can do whatever I want."
