Joe Lo Truglio: The Interview (Paul)
Interesting Tidbits

Joe is a HUGE horror movie genre fan.

Joe Lo Truglio was born in Queens and raised in Florida. He attended NYU Film school and co-founded the sketch group,” The State.” (Which also had a show on MTV for 2 years). He has also had roles in numerous projects such as Superbad, Fanboys, Hitch, and Reno 911. Joe starred in the movie “Paul” which is being released on Blu-ray/DVD on Tuesday, August 9, 2011.

Shakefire: What drew you to play the role of Agent O' Riley?
Joe Lo Truglio: The people involved in the project and the director had a lot to do with my decision. I am a huge fan with everyone involved in the making of the movie and the mere fact I was asked was a complete honor. I also found the script to be very smart and funny.

SF: There's a lot of good comedic talent in this movie like Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Who did you have fun working with the most?
JLT: All of them! We got along so well. We felt like a big happy family. Everyone was always in good spirit and we had fun, made up songs, and played lots of games. It always felt like a party on set.

SF: If you were an alien, what powers would you want to have?
JLT: It might sound odd and make no sense, but I would love to be able to make people talk backwards. I know other people might want to be able to fly or shoot lasers out of their fingers. Not me!!! Making people look silly and talk backwards would be enough for me.

SF: You've worked with a lot of comedians. Which comedians did you look up to growing up?
JLT: All the old school great comedians like George Carlin and Richard Pryor were my favourites. I used record the routines and play them over and over for hours practicing to be as good as they are.

SF: You were one of the voices in the GTA: Liberty City and Warriors:the videogame. Do you play videogames and favorite videogame of all time?
JLT: Hell yeah I do!! This is a pretty hard question, but if you want me to go old school, I am going to have to say Asteroid and new school I would say GTA: Vice City. I can play those games forever if given the chance.

SF: If they do decide to make sequel to Paul, would you be interested in starring in it?
JLT: I had such a great time with this movie I would totally jump at the opportunity. I heard they are in talk for a sequel and would lot to be a part of it no matter how big or small the part would be.

SF: Do you have any upcoming projects you want to talk about?
JLT: Of course! I am starring in a TV show this fall called “Free Agents” and a movie coming out this October called “Wanderlust” along with Paul Rudd n Jennifer Aniston. Hope you can go check them both out!

SF: I will for sure! Keep up the awesome work and thanks for taking the time to chat with me today!!
JLT: No problem! The honor was all mine! Thank you for being such a fan!
