Miley Cyrus Set for No. 1 on Billboard 200

On next week's Billboard 200 albums chart, Miley Cyrus is set for a No. 1 debut with "Bangerz," while rapper Pusha T and rock act Panic! at the Disco are on course for top five bows with their latest efforts.

As earlier reported, Cyrus' new studio album "Bangerz" should easily arrive atop the chart, with over 250,000 sold by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Oct. 13. It may finish the week with perhaps 265,000, so say industry forecasters.

Next week's top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The full chart will refresh the following day on Billboard.com.

To compare, Cyrus' last studio album, 2010's "Can't Be Tamed," debuted and peaked at No. 3 off a start of 102,000 (according to Nielsen SoundScan). Cyrus' largest sales week ever was logged when her 2008 album "Breakout" debuted at No. 1 with 371,000.

As noted on Wednesday, "Bangerz's" potential start is on par with that of some other female pop singers in recent years. For example, Rihanna's "Unapologetic" started at No. 1 last year with 238,000 and Britney Spears' "Femme Fatale" launched at No. 1 in early 2011 with 276,000. P!nk saw her first No. 1 album, "The Truth About Love," debut atop the list with 280,000 in 2012.

Meanwhile, Panic! at the Disco's new album "Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die" could debut at No. 2 with perhaps 90,000 or so. It's the act's first album since 2011's "Vices & Virtues," which debuted and peaked at No. 7 with 56,000 sold. To date, that album has moved 197,000 copies. Panic! at the Disco's highest-charting album is its second effort, 2008's "Pretty. Odd.," which debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the list. (Their biggest album is their debut, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out." It may have only peaked at No. 13, but it spent 66 weeks on the chart and has sold 1.9 million.)

The new Panic! album was led by the single "Miss Jackson," featuring Lolo, which has so far reached No. 16 on the Alternative airplay chart.

It looks like rapper Pusha T will start around No. 4 with his new album "My Name Is My Name." It may sell around 70,000, which would instantly give him his first top 10 album as a solo artist. (As one-half of the duo Clipse, he reached the top 10 with 2002's "Lord Willin'," which hit No. 4.)

Other albums on course for the top 10 next week include "The Voice's" Cassadee Pope, with "Frame By Frame" and Korn's "Paradigm Shift." They may sell around 40,000 each.

Making a play for a possible top 10 bow is the "Glee" soundtrack to its Oct. 10 episode, titled "The Quarterback." The six-song EP features music performed in the show, which dealt with the death of the character Finn, and doubles as a tribute to the late actor who played him, Cory Monteith. The EP might sell around 30,000.

On SoundScan's Building chart (below), Cyrus, Panic! at the Disco and Pusha T are Nos. 1-3, respectively. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants.

As for the rest of the top 10: Drake's "Nothing Was the Same" is No. 4, while Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2)" is No. 5. Lorde's "Pure Heroine" is No. 6, followed by Pope, Korn and the "Glee" cast album at Nos. 7-9. Alter Bridge's new effort, "Fortress," rounds out the top 10.
