Channing Tatum confirmed to play Gambit in future X-Men project

During the X-Men: Days of Future Past red carpet premiere, producer Lauren Shuler Donner revealed that Channing Tatum is confirmed to play the mutant Gambit in a future X-Men project.

When asked about what characters she'd like to see in future films, she mentioned Gambit and Deadpool specifically. The subject of Channing Tatum being interested in the role of the card throwing Cajun was brought up and she emphatically made it clear that yes, he is indeed confirmed to play the character.

"He's a rogue, Channing. He's a rascal just like Remy LeBeau and he can handle the action," she says. "And he's a southerner too. He's not from New Orleans, but he is a southerner and understands that world."
