Laughing is a great thing, it's even used for medicine, but making someone laugh can be tough, at times impossible. Does that stop Kevin Nealon? Nope, at least not yet anyways because he has a new CD called, Whelmed but Not Overly, where it was filmed in Greenwood, Colorado. From crop-dusting some celebrities to talking about a very embarrassing moment with a girl he just began dating, Kevin Nealon talks about it. He's a well established comedian, which he has earned by doing the stand up routines, shows, movies, and specials that have made me laugh for years. Now I can't say that I'm a huge fan of his but I have watched him when he was SNL as well as some of his other stand up routines that he's done and I've liked him.

Kevin Nealon has the practical, real life comedy and that's the kind that I like. He don’t' try to use gimmicks or shock value to make you laugh, he makes you laugh because the situation is one that can be made funny. However, there's a dark side to this kind of humor, it can be bland where it only brings out the chuckles rather than making me laugh out loud funny or bring a tear to my eyes cause it's so funny. These jokes he has are funny, some could be memorable for a week or two, but most seem like he's holding back or maybe he's grown to an age that he don't want to fully let go and go wild. A few times he sounds like he has a point he wants to make about certain situations, like when he talks about being the president but he ends up not saying anything to emphasize any point he might have been trying to make.

There's one line that he uses throughout his routine that's a little funny and at times was a little annoying and that line is ""What with the economy the way it is". I get it, I understand how he's using it, which is at random points to emphasize that this phrase is being used as an excuse for anything but he doesn't pick the right moments to use it. This was a perfect title for his comedy because I was a little whelmed with his jokes but not too much so that I would say he's one of those great comedians. His jokes are tame compared to some of the comedians that I normally listen to, G rated in fact, but he can still make me laugh enough that I wasn't bored while listening. I don't have to laugh so hard that my sides hurt and my eyes water, which I don't, but I do want to laugh some and Kevin Nealon gets me to chuckle.
