Keyless is a musical artist that hails from Memphis, Tennessee. He beautifully mixes several genres to create his own unique sound that sets him apart from other upcoming artist in the music industry today. His debut album, ”Hot Shot,” is full of pop, rock, and dance goodness that already has the critics praising his work and asking for more. Shakefire had the chance to review “Hot Shot” to see if Keyless really lives up to all the hype.

After listening to “Hot Shot,” I can honestly say that I was impressed with Keyless and his talent. The songs were catchy and memorable, but not enough to drive you crazy if you heard it constantly on the radio like most Katy Perry or Pink songs. Also, the lyrics were relatable and easy to understand for anyone listening to it. However, the strong points of the album were the beats and the song variety Keyless chose to go with on his album. He has some of the best dance beats that I have heard in a long time. Also, the way he blends pop, rock, and dance on his songs is similar to David Guetta, but not yet at that point for the time being. My favorite songs were “Hot Shot,” “Crazy,” ‘ and “Everything” because they sounded so good in the car.

The only gripe I had was the constant use of auto-tune. Keyless sounds like he has great vocal range and can sing really well, but his singing talents are masked by the over-usage of auto-tune. I liked the album, but I would have liked it even more without the constant robot or T-pain like singing. Other than that, I do recommend checking out the album and can’t wait to see what Keyless comes out with next. For those reasons, I am giving “Hot Shot” a “B-.”
