Nova and PBS have a great reputation for producing some of the best documentaries around. I remember PBS televising educational TV and unique documentaries since I was a little kid. Their latest documentary, “Nova: Earth from Space,” is an interesting mix that spans a full 2 hours of. They cover a wide range from topics from the weather to disasters to the formation of the earth. The cool part is they manage to easily explain the connections between all the topics and utilize satellite images to tell their story.

This documentary is a very eclectic documentary that can easily be used as an educational tool for science classes. The contents are a bit complex, but they do a good job of simplifying it to make it easier to understand for general audiences. The music was surprisingly good and helped move the documentary along, but the overall pacing a bit slow at times. Also, the computer generated images and the satellite material was really cool to see and helped a lot as visual aids. Even though “Nova: Earth from Space” might not appeal to everyone, it is still worth a watch if you want to learn something new about the world, the weather, and about natural disasters. For those reasons, I am giving “Nova: Earth from Space” a “B+.”
