Tom Mullen (Mel Gibson) has everything he could want; a beautiful wife, a wonderful son, and is comfortably rich. But all of that is threatened when his son is kidnapped and held for ransom. Ignoring FBI specialist, Tom takes matters into his own hands to try and find the kidnappers. But as things spiral out of control it seems Tom may never see his son again.

“Ransom” is a great movie; but since it has been out awhile this grade is for what they qualify as a special edition not the movie itself. I was disappointed in the few features on this disc. There are deleted scenes, but they are short and very few. There is a “What Would You Do?” feature and a behind the scenes special with Ron Howard. Let me sum these up real quick: Ron Howard talks about how he directed this film without really saying anything, Rene Russo says she hates panty hose three times, and they show cupcakes she brought for the crew and Mel Gibson laughs while smoking a cigarette. I watched these and felt they were quickly thrown together. If you already own Ransom on DVD I wouldn’t suggest buying this one too.
