I was one of the few people that I went to see this with that didn’t completely hate it.  Even though I am not, by ANY means, a fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey, I enjoyed the somber and thought-provoking first-half.  Until…”burning man” came stumbling in.  You’ll know when you see it.

QUALITY:
Not as good as I thought it would be.  Although it is disputed whether or not this is a work of brilliance or a disappointment from a promising young director, the fact that it is a beautiful movie was, I thought, indisputable.  The unending landscapes of space, the bright and gorgeous sun and the blinding blue eyes of lead Cillian Murphy.  But, unfortunately, it was not crisp and very grainy.  The sound was spot-on, but the picture just didn’t cut it.

BONUS FEATURES:
Deleted Scenes, Commentary, Trailer and 2 short, confusing drug-infused films by random directors.

OVERALL:
In my opinion, a decent movie for most of the way through is completely spoiled by a very disappointing transfer of what could have been a beautiful high definition example.
