Tame Impala is a band that was formed in Perth, Australia and have been together since 2007. They have received a lot of praise and they won several awards since their debut in the music scene. Their style can be described as psychedelic rock with a very nostalgic feel. Tame Impala released their debut full studio album, “Innerspeaker,” in 2010 and they are currently promoting their latest album, “Lonerism.” For a modern-day band, they will bring you back to the 70’s era with ease.

They are a very talented band that has a lot going for them because of the unique sound and chemistry they bring to modern-music era. They will surely attract older audiences with their groovy instrumentals and laid back vibes. The melodic vocals and mellow lyrics fit right in with the whole mantra Tame Impala imparts on their listeners. My favorite song was “Mind Mischief” because of the up-tempo beat and catchiness. This band can surely make good music, but it might not attract all audiences.

If you grew up with 70’s music or need something mellow to listen to, “Lonerism” is the perfect album for you. Younger audiences might not get what Tame Impala is trying to do with album, but older audiences will surely appreciate their efforts. I admit, this is not exactly my genre of music, but I did like several songs. This album would surely appeal a lot more to my dad that it would have for me. However, I was impressed with both the band and the album and am giving this album a “B+.”
