Wyldlife is a band that formed in New York City and they describe their sound as 70’s Punk Rock. They have received lots of critical praise and they have been compared to several well-known bands such as The Ramones and The Hives. Their first self-titled album got them discovered and they just recently released their sophomore album, “The Time Has Come To Rock & Roll.” These guys are full of energy and talent and Shakefire had the opportunity to record their latest release.

There is no doubt these guys know how to rock and get people moving. Their strong points are their instrumentals and catchy melodies. My favorite songs on the album were “Wasted” and “Trash.” Their sound is very unique and from a totally different era of music. If you like vintage punk music, this is the album for you.

However, I wish they were more impressive with their vocals and their lyrics. The vocals were the weak link on this album because there was not a lot of vocal range or variety. I was hoping for as much variety as their instrumentals, but was disappointed. It sounded like a lot of the same singing in each song and most of them were below average. As for the lyrics, they were memorable, but average with the exception of “Wasted” and “Trash.” These guys have the talent to be something big and better, but they have to improve their vocals first. For those reasons, I am giving this album a “C-.”
