For anyone who has never had the pleasure of watching Gabriel Iglesias perform a stand up routine you’ve been missing out. His show contains elements of sound effects, impersonations, storytelling, and a number of voices that, really shouldn’t be coming out of him, but do. I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy is his second Comedy Central Special and is just as hilarious as his first (Hot and Fluffy).
QUALITY:
Black levels right off the bat are an issue. As soon as the exterior introduction turns to interior and Iglesias starts heading towards the stage grain makes a major display in the darker sections of your screen. Once He hit’s the stage and shadow is eliminated by stage lights picture is next to perfect if not for a little, mostly unnoticeable background video noise. Video noise is mostly the culprit here in wide out shots and becomes extremely bad during audience close up shots (this can be seen the most when they do an up close shot of Iglesias’ mother in the audience). For the most part the show is a 95% close up shot of Iglesias performing which has great detail, organic and proper color for clothing, stage, and skin pigmentation, with of course the small amount of grain in the background. Audio which comes at you in a Dolby Digital English 5.1 mix is surprisingly fantastic. Since it’s a live show I suppose they felt we could have done without an HD channel. it’s a decent transfer though far from perfect.
BONUS FEATURES:
~Additional 20 Minutes not added on Comedy Central. Mind you this is not something you can click on in the bonus feature section. This pertains to the extended run time of the feature.
~Fluffy’s friends hit the stage: Martin Moreno & Noe Gonzales (HD). Kind of disappointed in these performances. Moreno gets a 5+ minute performance and Gonzales 4+ minutes.
~Onstage Q&A with the fans. (HD)
~Deleted Scene: High School Reunion. (HD)
