Before all they had to worry about was trying to fit into the human world but life is ever changing, even for monsters, and now Aidan (played by Sam Witwer), Sally (playedy by Meaghan Rath), and Josh (played by Sam Huntington) are in for some hard times. These three roommates have been separated for a year from each other but Josh has spent that time looking for his friends. But a werewolf that’s looking for a vampire that is thought to be dead and a girl who is dead won’t be the easiest of searches but Josh and his girlfriend Nora (played by Kristen Hager) won’t give up hope for the safe return of their friends.

SEASON 3 BEGINS:

A vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost all live in the same apartment as they want to be more human and no that’s an opening to a bad joke but the characters of a television show. Being Human is getting ready to being it’s third season this January with the episodes “It’s A Shame About Ray” and “(Dead) Girls Just Want To Have Fun”. This show is ok with the idea of having these characters together but it’s not one that has caught my attention enough to want to watch it. The main reason I haven’t been able to get into the show is its use of over the top drama as the plot pusher instead of just good story telling. Which is common for a TV show but in this case it’s one after the other moment that seems to always be the end of the world for the characters.

Though, with the tactic of having the characters always in some sort of situation that will either kill them or get them caught for what they are, this new season starts with a interesting plot point. I won’t say what those plot points are because that would just spoil it for some and that’s just not a good thing to do. However, I will say this about the first two episodes of season 3, I was intrigued enough to want to watch them. Or maybe I should say I was more interested in wanted to watch season 2 (which I have not watched) of the show to find out exactly what has happened to these characters from the end of season 1 (which I watched) to this star of season three.

There’s a few characters that I don’t know who they were or why they are on the show but it didn’t hurt much in the flow of these first two episodes. Even with not know what happened in the previous season I was able to follow along with what was going on. I would have liked more information but it’s really not needed. There was a few twists that popped up in these episodes that I actually liked but I think I would have liked the story and results to have been played out in the course of at least 5-7 episodes instead of just 2. Sure there’s more to come from what happens in these episodes, which could be even bigger and better than what does happen in these first 2 episodes, but it felt like the writers where rushing to get the closure for whatever went down in season 2 to get on with what’s going to go on in season 3. This has always been a gripe of mine with these kinds of shows that they will build up for this huge season finale episode that leaves us fans with a cliffhanger ending where we wait months before it starts up again (if it doesn’t get canceled because we all know in the land of TV shows today a show can be canceled quicker and more often than it gets renewed leaving no closure to it) and then when the new season starts they give us a quick wrap up to get on with the same old thing again. And even though this show does that with these first 2 episodes it does give a new story that might be pretty interesting in the coming season.
