Originally from Rochester, New York, she joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live" (1975) in the middle of its 2005-2006 season. She is a member of the renowned sketch comedy theater The Groundlings Main Company in Los Angeles, where she was promoted up from the Groundlings Sunday Company after just one year. She left SNL near the end of the 37th season to pursue other projects.
