Not Easily Broken, written by T.D. Jakes and adapted to film by screenwriter Brian Bird and director Bill Duke is mostly a male perspective look at relationships, marriage being the dominate focus. The story revolves around Dave Johnson (Morris Chestnut) and his wife Clarice (Taraji P. Henson) who haven’t seen eye to eye in years. Dave wants children but Clarice is to tied up with her career. Meanwhile Dave’s friends offer up two more perspectives on marriage that offer a greater depth to the whole concept of the film making for an extremely intriguing and honest representation of marriage and the many pitfalls that can ruin that bond.
