Big News From House of Ideas & Marvel Universe & Upcoming Title & This Week Title & A Random Thought

NEWS HAPPENING IN THE COMIC BOOK WORLD:
This is news for the comic books that I don’t like at all. In fact when I read it I wanted to scream and if I wasn’t at work I would have. I’ll do what the others didn’t before I found out, I’m giving you Amazing Spider-Man fans a moment to take a breath and prepare yourself because here comes the news.
Amazing Spider-Man is ending with issue #700 in December!

When I saw that there was something big for Spider-Man happening that will change the life of Spidey/Peter I figured they were going to do something with the new character Alpha. Instead of that they are ending the best title and though I’m sure they are going to have a new Spider-Man title restart with an issue #1 under the Marvel Now banner it don’t make the ending of it any better. It also means there’s a possibility of a new Spider-Man.

That’s what worries me. With the House of Ideas keeping everything secret the end of Amazing Spider-Man could lead anywhere. Being one of their top characters and most popular book I can’t see them ending it and not having a new one start up. But does that mean it will be the same character? Not really, not even with the solicitations showing a Spider-Man sitting atop the Hulk, that could still be anyone under that mask. One statement that’s been made for many years is that with Spider-Man wearing a full body suit that hides his identity he could be anyone. This could allow Marvel to do something with Peter Parker, from him retiring to being killed off, and then having someone else take his place under the mask. Could it be this new guy Alpha? Maybe someone we haven’t seen yet like with the Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales?
It looks like these next few months is going to drive me crazy until more news is released on my favorite character.

COMICS IN THE MOVIES AND TELEVISION:
I try to watch all shows that are comic book based, especially if it’s a Spider-Man one and the newest Spidey toon comes on Disney XD Sunday mornings. The one I speak of is called Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, though it’s not the one from the Ultimate Universe. This one features a teenage Peter Parker while still in high school who is now working for S.H.I.E.L.D. and has teammates Luke Cage a.k.a. Power Man, Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist, Sam Alexander a.k.a. Nova, and Ava Ayala a.k.a White Tiger.
The show is ok, not the greatest either but one that’s fun to watch and there are episodes that it does something that makes it great. One episode in particular that was just aired on Sunday September 16 called “Run Pig Run”. This was a great episode because it has Loki come back for revenge on Spider-Man because of a previous episode. His revenge was turning Spidey into a pig for Asgards great hunt. That’s right this episode had Spider-Ham in it and yes they call him that throughout the episode and do all sorts of pig jokes. Spider-Ham is one of those stupid characters but I think he’s great, so getting to see him on this show was really awesome. It didn’t hurt any that Thor was also in this episode, if you haven’t seen it and you like Spider-Man or Thor, or Spider-Ham, then you should really need to watch it.

BOOK TO READ THIS WEEK:
Spider-Men #5
Written by Brian Michael Bendis

Plot: It’s the last issue of a great story that brings Peter Parker back to his home but what happens during the first and last pages is worth reading. But the what happens in the end is worth paying for.

RANDOM THOUGHTS BY ME FROM ME:
Thor. I’ve been having a question about him lately. The main one is his flying. Originally, Thor would get around by first swinging his hammer, then throwing it, and he would just hold on to the strap to get pulled to wherever it was thrown at. But now it seems like he flys around without the need of being dragged by the hammer.
