Baroness In Bus Crash

Baroness, the rising prog-metal quartet that recently released its third album "Yellow & Green," has cancelled the remainder of its tour dates in Europe following a serious bus crash near Bath, England on Tuesday night (Aug. 14).

According to the BBC, the Georgia band's tour bus fell 30 feet from a viaduct, and two unnamed people on board had to be freed by firefighters. Seven others suffered minor injuries.

A statement from the band's rep was released on Wednesday, and reads, "Baroness were in a serious bus accident last night near Bath, England. The band members and crew are recovering at local hospitals. All tour dates are postponed until further notice."

Baroness had performed at The Fleece in Bristol, U.K. on Tuesday night, and was scheduled to head into Belgium and Germany this weekend before returning to the U.S. for select shows beginning Aug. 29.

Upon its release last month, "Yellow & Green" was met with critical acclaim from outlets like Pitchfork and Alternative Press, and has since sold 22,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Its current lineup includes John Baizley, Peter Adams, Allen Bickle and Matt Maggioni.
