Showtime has renewed freshman comedy House of Lies and returning series Shameless and Californication for additional seasons.

The Don Cheadle comedy, one of the first green-lit under new Showtime entertainment topper David Nevins, premiered strong behind the cabler's Emmy Rossum's Shameless earlier this month, which has continued to build ratings in its sophomore season.

The hourlong dramedy from John Wells has continued to build ratings momentum in its sophomore season, most recently topping rival HBO's heavily promoted series premiere of Luck.

“These three shows are clearly resonating with audiences as evidenced by their steady growth on Sunday nights," Nevins said in a statement announcing the pickups Wednesday. "We are extremely pleased with the creative work being done by the casts, producers and writers – and I so appreciate that each of these series has such a clear and distinctive voice."

The renewals will bring Shameless into its third season, House of Lies into its second and Californication into its sixth.

As a whole, the Sunday night lineup has seen continued growth this season, posting double-digit increases year-over-year. Shameless is averaging 4.75 million weekly viewers across multiple platforms and encore airings, and is up 30 percent year-over-year. The William H. Macy starrer ranks as the premium cable network's No. 2 rated show behind its Michael C. Hall serial killer drama Dexter.

For its part, House of Lies -- a dark comedy about management consultants co-starring Kristen Bell -- opened as the network's second-highest-rated freshman premiere and is tracking to become its highest-rated comedy.

Californication, starring David Duchovny as a womanizing author, is averaging nearly 3 million viewers across multiple platforms in its fifth season and is up 10 percent year-over-year.
