Doc McStuffins: Time for Your Checkup

Doc McStuffins is Disney Junior show about a little girl named Doc who brings her toys to life with her imagination and helps them when they’ve become damaged. The magic takes place inside of Doc’s playhouse in the backyard and usually coincides with some morality lesson that Doc has gone through in her home with her Father.

The disc includes 5 episodes for a whopping run time of 2 hours. Each episode is a double episode with Doc helping a toy in each of them as well as learning a thing or two about living healthy. No bonus features are included in this collection of shows.

The show is brought to life with CGI animation which looks pretty fantastic. It’s a cross between a fully fleshed out character, almost alive, and a computer generated one, so the show looks pretty sophisticated. The character design is the usual kid stuff with characters with heads far to large and arms to short. Don’t expect Doc or any of the other human characters to ever scratch the tops of their heads. Still, it will look normal to kids who’ve grown up with Dora or The Backyardigans.

Though it’s a kids a show it was pretty enjoyable. I no longer have any little kids to watch shows like this with but was pretty impressed by the story writing, the character look, and most of the music. It was also good to see more level headed informative points like get enough sleep, always remember to not skip a meal and when you do eat, eat healthy. Kids will love it, parent will enjoy it. I highly suggest.
