Musical Beginnings

Early in her career, Bec Hollcraft was mentored by Meredith Brooks.

Having formed just this past year, Los Angeles based rock band Stars In Stereo recently released their self-titled debut album.  With an extremely talented lead singer and the band sounding like a well-oiled machine, Stars In Stereo appear poised for popularity on the national level.

Releasing solo albums in both the United States and Japan and also participating in the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, lead singer Bec Hollcraft is not a newcomer to the music industry.  Since their formation in 2012, Stars In Stereo have been touring regularly with bands such as The Used, Flyleaf, Drowning Pool, and most recently, Bullet For My Valentine.  Bec's vocal range and the catchy, relatable lyrics of the songs make Stars In Stereo a highly recommended debut.

"The Broken" kicks off the album with a high energy anthem to motivate the rock masses.  That energy continues with "Violence" where Hollcraft's infectious voice will have everyone shouting along with her, "does it feel like violence?"  "Red Eyed Romance" takes an interesting approach by allowing Hollcraft to set the pace of the song with the instruments following suit.  Hollcraft saves her best performance for the most outstanding track on the album - "Every Last Thing."  It's one of those epic songs by a young band that will become a concert staple of theirs for years to come.  After only a couple listens, you'll be joining in on the chorus.

"Open Your Eyes" and "Queen of Catastrophe" fall on the border between pop and rock, further showcasing Hollcraft's relative ease at switching between genres.  Her tremendous work lifts every piece on the album; there's no riff-raff present here.  Modern rock fans should love Stars In Stereo, especially fans pining for rock with a female presence.  Those interested in the band should check out an awesome cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On" available at their official website and like the band on Facebook as they seem very fan-friendly.
