The Rolling Stones have been together for over 50 years. Besides The Beatles, they are the second most recognized British rock band on the planet. They have headlined countless tours, sold tons of records, and have had numerous hit singles. However, does anyone really know the band’s true history or how they rose to fame? “The Rolling Stones: Crossfire Hurricane” is a documentary directed by Brett Morgan and, with the full cooperation of The Rolling Stones, attempts to explain the road they have traveled on to become rock royalty.

If you are a fan of The Rolling Stones, this is a must have item for you. Their stories are told through their eyes and mouths and “Crossfire Hurricane” is unlike any other Rolling Stone biography or documentary out there. They included lots of bonus content and actual footage to give the documentary more authenticity and a more personal feel to it. The Rolling Stones have had quite the storied music career and this documentary gives great insight to what they had to endure to get to where they are now. Anything and everything you ever wanted to know about The Rolling Stones is contained in “Crossfire Hurricane.”

Even if you are not a fan of The Rolling Stones, this was a very well made documentary. The sound was immersing and made me feel like I was front row in one of their concerts. The only issue I had was the grainy older footage that did not look very crisp for a Blu-ray. Other than that, I actually enjoyed watching “Crossfire Hurricane” and learned so much more than I had expected about The Rolling Stones. For those reasons, I am giving “The Rolling Stones: Crossfire Hurricane” a “B.”
