Artist: Chrissy Murderbot Album: Friendship Members: Chris Shively Genre: DJ/Dance Label: Halocyan Records Tracks: 4 Type: EP Release Date: July 17, 2012 Rating: ( )Grade: C- Chrissy Murderbot is a Chicago DJ named Chris Shively and he has been spinning records since 1995. He has played in over 400 different events in more than 15 different countries. He loves everything from drum & bass to jungle to house and everything else related to dance music. The “Friendship” EP is a sample of what is to come from his third full length album release, entitled “Women’s Studies.” I thought the intros to both songs were really interesting and they had a lot of build up, but ended up being really hectic songs. I was not sure which direction each song was going and felt they sounded too similar to each other and were very repetitive. I actually enjoyed the remixes a lot more than the original songs. They felt like they had more substance and made a lot more sense than the original songs. None of the songs were catchy, but they were very unique and I could picture each song being played in a space invaders mini-game. There was just too much going on in each song and for those reasons, I am giving this EP a “C-.” |
