Now I’m no jazz cat, so this album didn’t really stand out to me. To my uncultured ears, this sounded like a record full of slow jazz jams. Put this on in the background for lounge listening, easy-on-the-ears, relaxing music. And that’s about all I hear. I was fairly bored, to be perfectly honest.

That said, a quick look at Lewis’ resume reveals an incredible history of jazz composition: multiple gold records, Grammy awards and much more. He’s been at this a long time, so either this album is just a bit of a miss or I’m simply not hearing it. If smooth jazz is your bag, definitely check this out. If not, well you’re not missing much.
