Artist: The Real Nasty Album: Dirty Dollars Members: Ryan Lukas, Jacob Groopman, Matthew “Smitty” Smith Label: Ninth Street Opus Tracks: 10 Type: LP Release Date: October 4, 2011 Rating: ( )Grade: B You really don’t know what to expect when you hear a band whose name is The Real Nasty. The three member band combines a mix of country and rock to bring an old school feeling to their music. This means jamming guitar solos, classic vocal tracks, and a softer tone than what today’s hard rockers head bang to. Dirty Dollars has the feel of real music. It consists of simple vocals with simple guitars and other musical instruments. There’s no crazy auto-tune or overbearing synthesizers that mask the actual talent this trio has. Some may find this type of music to boring or simple, but The Real Nasty manage to put an album together that’s a refreshing break from the norm. It isn’t the best thing out there but Dirty Dollars works well at keeping you in a peaceful mood. This is the kind of music you want to listen to when you just want to take a break from it all. Perhaps the best thing about the album is that you can stream the entire thing from The Real Nasty’s official website. You can also download it at whatever price you wish. Want to pay $15 for it? Go ahead. Feel that it’s better at $0? That’s fine too. Regardless, this is definitely one album worth listening to. |
