Artist: Today the Moon Tomorrow the Sun Album: Wildfire Members: Laren, Cregg, Micah, Jeremy Label: Greyday Records/Latest Flame Records Tracks: 12 Type: Digital Release Date: November 22, 2011 Rating: ( )Grade: A+ Indie music has, over the years, become a cluttered little corner of the music universe. There are so many bands that sound similar or similar enough that it’s hard to really find one band that manages to pull off their sound, sure with a touch of homage, but enough personal flare that your willing to buy into their ever progressing evolution. Today The Moon, Tomorrow The Sun is a band that, sure has some familiar elements, but whose combination of passionate tight knit playing and flexiable style pays off for them in the end. Great vocals, throwback and flash-forward keyboard sound, the ability to turn on the heavy crunch in their sound that aids the album in going to dark places. From what I hear the band also puts on one hell of a live show. I hear there are some performances floating around in you tube land so be sure to head there to check them out. Other then that I’m not going to go into too much detail about the band, only that their album is a solid 12 track opus that should please any electro-pop-rock-indie fan (sorry if I left anything else out of the mix). To be honest what kind of justice could I really do by trying to explain them in my own way, which usually consists of comparing one band to the next, though if you must have it Joy Formidable come to mind. In any case the best way to find out how much your going to love this band, and chances are high that you’ll love them, is to check out their songs for yourself. Find the link below which has three tracks from the album at sound cloud and then if you love it throw your support behind the band and go out and get this album. It’s worth the purchase price in my opinion and when a band puts together an album this good it beats wasting your money on the new Justin Beiber. Enjoy. Pictures/Covers: |
