Across the Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright is the story of a man whose about to be indicted for one of the largest investment schemes in U.S. History. With FBI agents all around him he manages to slip away and hide out in Tijuana where he spends his days reconsidering what’s important in life. In effect the film is all about realization. Charlie Wright (played by Aidan Quinn) is the center piece to the film surrounded by a Crime Boss (Andy Garcia), an FBI agent (Mario Van Peebles), and a Russian hitman (Luke Goss). All are on the verge of some type of breakthrough.

QUALITY:
This is a beautiful picture, almost flawless. There are a few select scenes, mostly exterior shots of Tijuana, that may or may not suffer from environmental conditions falling victim to a slight background grain. These moments are so far and few between that the entirety of the film is on the verge of being an immaculate picture. Skin tones are fantastic, clarity and definition so powerful. Audio is fantastic as well though it also suffers slightly from an environmental issue. In one scene where Mario Van Peebles is explaining himself to his superior (Corbin Bernsen) his voice sounds a bit hollow. Could have been the acoustics of that particular set but it seemed very direct. All in all though Across the Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright is a great addition to your high def collection.

BONUS FEATURES:
Here’s where we hit a bit of a snag. According to the case there should be Deleted Scenes, a short film titled Baines, and a Behind the Scenes featurette. The only bonus feature we find here is a twenty two plus minute featurette which covers a lot but is a bit anemic considering the special features listing on the box. If they decided to split the three or four sections of topics found here it would look more pleasing to the eye but you get it all from a Director Feature, Location Feature, Cast Feature, and Story Feature. Again, what’s missing are the deleted scenes and short film which elude me and considering the very simple menu where could it be hiding?
