For me Due Date was one of those movies you kind of laugh at but once its over your done with it. Todd Phillips pretty much throws the kitchen sink at you here in his formulated follow up to his massive hit The Hangover. Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) is on his way home to be with his pregnant wife when an idiot by the name of Ethan Tremblay (Zack Galifianakis) gets him kicked off the plane. Now penniless and without transport Highman must take the road trip from hell when Ethan, also ejected from the plane, shows up and offers him a ride he will soon regret. I hated the characters, thought the laughs were cheap and the story predictable, but the BD transfer is magnificent.

QUALITY:
Yet another release for BD that showcases what a true high definition title should look like. Due Date has rich colors, very fine definition, and it manages to keep that cinematic texture to it that you recall from seeing it in theaters. I had no problems with this presentation. No grain, haloing, soft shots, or any of those other nagging issues that seem to pop up in the more inferior releases on Blu-Ray. Audio really adds to the experience though rear channels really need to be refined by studio’s for their releases. While the rear channel presence is there it could have been better. The front and side channels manage to absorb the bass heavy crashes and musical soundtrack attributes with real delivery but it’s a bit soft in the rear channels. Dialogue is coherent up front though and atmospheric presence is good.

BONUS FEATURES:
Very weak. Deleted Scenes and Gag Reel come in at a measly eleven+ minutes and their quality addition to the supplemental package is pretty boring. You get about five+ minutes together with the other features added but really, if your buying this because you loved the movie then you’ve got your monies worth there. Supplemental packaging is next to nothing offering only the incentive that its presented in HD.
