Title: Frankenhood Genre: Comedy Starring: Drew Sidora, Charlie Murphy, J.B. Smoove, DeRay Davis Director: Blaxwell Smart Studio: Lions Gate Runtime: 92 minutes Release Date: May 5, 2009 MPAA Rating: Rating: ( )Grade: D- Motown and Darius have lost the 3 on 3 basketball tournament for as long as they can remember. Even though every year Motown says that this year is different, this particular year is actually different because their third player is Frankie Jr., a corpse brought back to life through the miracle of science... and the crazy Franklin from the local mortuary. Honestly, these two are probably the whitest black guys I've seen. The whole film is quite the joke. It has all the traditional stereotypes and even the longest motorboating segment I've seen. If you don't know what that is, I suggest googling it although you might want to do it at home, rather than work. For a film about a basketball tournament, there isn't really much basketball. Sure, you learn of the friendship the three teammates form but there isn't much substance to it. Probably the most interesting thing about the film is the crazy Franklin played by Charlie Murphy. Anything that man says in this film is particularly funny but that was about it. All the other things were rather sad. Even the bonus featureswere lacking. You can watch a few deleted scenes or making of the film featurettes. That's about it. I would stay away from this one. You know exactly what you will get into if you would just look at the cover.
