Title: The Cure: Trilogy Genre: Live Music Starring: Perry Bamonte, Jason Cooper, Simon Gallup, Roger O'Donnell, Robert Smith Director: Nick Wickham Studio: Eagle Rock Runtime: 248 Minutes Release Date: February 24, 2009 Format: BLU-RAY Rating: ( )Grade: B+ Concert DVDs are generally just a rehash of what you can find on the MUSIC HD on cable. Eagle Vision has been releasing a good number of Blu-Ray lately, mostly from the "Live From Montreux" series. This DVD finds The Cure performing all the songs from their "trilogy" of albums: Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers. QUALITY: BONUS FEATURES: The bonus features are, more or less, a waste unless you are really a hardcore fan, with the interviews holding the most value. This may be The Cure performing their best, but it certainly isn't the band AT their best as Robert Smith looks like he just got up from a 3 year nap in a gutter and his performance isn't completely up to par with their best of days. However, overall, the concert is fun and does show that the band hasn't lost their love of music. By performing their old music, you can see the old Cure again, just try to ignore those later albums of theirs if you can. |
