In 1945 the Nazi Party began experimenting on people who they believed possessed psychic powers, trying to obtain the perfect soldier. When the Nazi’s were defeated the experiments continued only in many different countries. Now, scattered all over, are people who possess certain qualities; Sniffers, Shifters, Movers, Watchers, and Shadows, all people with extraordinary psychic abilities. One country is just a few small steps away from perfecting their perfect soldier and standing in their way are two unlikely heroes, a Mover and a Shifter.

Even though this idea has been around for years its still a relatively fresh concept. People with amazing powers living among us, a government conspiracy, you know the drill. Unfortunately Push just doesn’t have what it takes to keep the story intriguing throughout. It wants to play itself off as some shifty intellectually charged sci-fi suspense picture but simply wastes to much time trying to be clever and far to much time utilizing the many different powers in the film to no meaningful use. Your never really given time to get familiar with the characters so your never fully invested. The director must have had in mind that your going to associate Chris Evans with being a superhero, seeing as he’s already played one in the abysmal Fantastic Four series, and that you automatically invest a paternal or universal attachment to Dakota Fanning because, despite her being a lot older now, still comes off as a child we have watched grow. This of course does not happen. As for Camilla Bell, well your not given much by way of either story nor in terms of acting. Bell, who seems to be one of the main plot points in the film, carries a wooden demeanor with her throughout the film that doesn’t help you care weather or not she makes it through the film. Sadly no one really coveys enough emotion or follows through on a decent storyline to make you care much.

For a sci-fi film Push has a lot of cool scenery, I especially enjoyed the fish market scene, but once you strip away the psychic power angles your not left with much. The overall story is weak and the acting in the film not a whole lot better. There are times when your going to find yourself enjoying the film but in the end, chances are, if you really came to be entertained, you're going to find yourself extremely disappointed. People walked out of my theater before the movie had concluded and of course people clapped when it was over, in a positive way, I think, so if anything the film has a 50/50 chance of reaching its audience, whomever that maybe. If its you I say enjoy and if not, well you’d probably be better off checking something else out.

Well, the movie started of

Well, the movie started of slow!It just dragged on.I found myself wanting to leave, but I was there with another party and we all car pooled over to the theatre.I will say this Dakota Fanning did do really well in this new older role! So "kudos" to her!I would not pay to see this movie!!(I was going to go down the ways to pay to watch "underworld"again..,..

PUSH

I saw the movie last night at a screening and I enjoyed it, Dakota was fab as always I give the Movie a B

PUSHed to boredom

I saw the screening last night and a part of me questions why I waited in the cold for this film. Apart from the special effects, there wasn't much more holding this film together.

Even the special effects seemed to be a re-working from other sources (notably HEROES). I really wanted the film to succeed but Dakota seemed as lost playing the 12-14 year old lead side kick (it appeared that she wasn't tied in to a real age in the film) as the screenwriters were in trying to make the film cohesive. I left the experience not really caring about the characters on the screen but really wanting to know about Dakota's mom since she seemed to be the truly 'gifted' character in the whole episode.

Wait for the DVD, save yourself some cash and PUSH the play button at home.

Push

What were the Nazi's doing in asia? going out for chinese food? this movie was so confusing that .....rate this a zero, not one entertaining believable scene. sorry

Bad

This movie is bad. I was waiting to leave the theater so long. It was my mistake that I sat on a chair in the middle.

I loved the overall concept

I loved the overall concept of the movie. And it was far better than anything on the tv show Heroes. I thought this was entertaining.

WOW

I was going to go see this movie but I am starting to second guess my decision. I will wait a week and see the reviews then.

Impressive

I liked the movie very much. There were some parts that I could have done without but I loved Chris Evans and especially Dakota Fanning. The action scenes were great, my favorite was in the fish market. Though there may be other movies coming out you might enjoy more, I think this was entertaining and worth seeing. I gave it a B.

decent with a side of blah

this film was decent for what it was. nothing about it through me for a loop. it seemed like your standard paranormal film, the action seemed expected and a bit drone. i mean it was what it was. I'm sure it appealed to that teen male audience enough to keep them in their seats but not enough to keep them coming back.

PUSH

This is a really bad movie, not the worst, but still very bad. Someone felt asleep next to me, and a couple just left altogether.

Push

I liked this movie, although it was kinda crazy. Very action packed. You had to really keep up with it, or you would get lost.

This movie could have been so

This movie could have been so much better, the ending sucks.

Better than Jumper

Even though it didn't live up to its potential, there were at least some good ideas and Paul McGuigan did a good job handling the action.

Not bad but not great. I

Not bad but not great. I thought it'd be kinda like "Jumper" last year but it would up much much better...It wasn't great but Dakota Fanning is growing up to be quite the young woman, Chris Evans continues his ascent to stardom, Camilla Belle continues to act like a wooden rock and Djimon Hounsou considers to build his character type

I liked it but it wasn't the

I liked it but it wasn't the greatest...as already said, Dakota Fanning was great but with so many movies these days (for example, Jumper) they want to leave you anticipating the sequel but they don't develop enough interest in the actual movie...these cliff hangers dont make you want more...I don't think that I would pay to see the next one.
