Show: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Season/Volume: The Ultimate Ending Genre: Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Family, Kids, Sci-Fi/Fantasy Studio: Warner Home Video Runtime: 220 Minutes Release Date: April 17, 2012 Format: DVD Discs: 2 Rating: ( )Grade: A It’s been awhile since I’ve visited the Ben 10 universe and how things have changed. Ben has a whole new army of aliens that he must adapt to, it appears the honeymoon is over between Gwen and Kevin (or maybe I just don’t recall them being so uppity at one another), and what’s this about the omnitrix having been destroyed? It’s a good thing that Ultimate Ending is a stand alone release, or so much a release that it begins at a part of the Ben 10 Ultimate Alien canon that I don’t need to know what happened previously, it pretty much all get’s glossed over later. So it was easy enough to join Ben, Gwen, and Kevin as they attempt to free a mythical sword from a knight named Sir George, who was having no part of it. Sir George is less interested in the feeble attempts made by the Tennyson’s, and Kevin, to stop him as he is at ending his long time nemesis Dagon, a monster of epic proportions that has laid dormant for decades behind a magic seal, which has been evidently broken. With no means of defeating Sir George our heroes must allow him to settle his score. Along the way we learn the origins of the sword and how they tie into Ben’s erratic use of his power and how disciplining himself will be the only way that he can handle the trials ahead. Trials so big that Ben will have more then he can handle on his own. I was pretty impressed with the set. The Man Of Action crew still live up to their name at offering some pretty action packed entertainment for the kiddies, and let’s face it, some adults. The set comes on two discs, each harboring five episodes, and the usual bonus feature of alien files is present. I’ve never been too big a fan of this particular bonus feature. If kids don’t know and understand the aliens in the show by now it’s obvious they don’t care to. The alien files always felt to me like kind of a cheap bonus feature, but then again at least it’s a bonus feature. Right? In any case you can’t go wrong with this whopping 220 minutes of alien action packed fun and adventure. As always final judgment is yours. Enjoy. Pictures: |
