The edited TV-MA version of Dance in the Vampire Bund is available to watch online, legally. Try it before you buy it. Dance in the Vampire Bund is a story about Akira Kaburagi Regendorf and the vampire queen, Mina Tepeş. The first episode sets the stage for the events that follows by having Mina appear on national television and reveal that vampires are real and that she is their queen. In the second episode we meet Akira, an average high school student with amnesia that had been briefly seen in the first episode. For some reason, which is explained later, Mina is drawn to Akira and he becomes her servant and protector. Though this sounds like the set up for wacky hijinks, the opposite occurs as Akira attempts to balance his duty to Mina and his friends while Mina works on establishing the Vampire Bund, a separate area for vampires to live free of persecution away from the temptation of human blood. Visually, Dance in the Vampire Bund is stunning in two ways. First, the art is amazing and conveys the emotion of the scene as well as any dialogue. Second, the queen of the vampires who is in love with Akira has a pre-pubescent body. This narrative choice has led to many people decrying the series and an equally fervent force defending it. FUNimation originally decided to produce the import edited for content, but relented after continued demands against censorship. This version is uncensored and does include depictions of a person possessing a pre-pubescent body in the nude and acting mature. Though there is no intercourse depicted in the series, the queen's virtue is even confirmed in a later episode, anyone that would feel uncomfortable seeing a naked Mina teasing Akrira should not watch this series. The audio is great in both Japanese and English. Though controversial to many in American society, Dance in the Vampire Bund is a great anime. Anyone who can look past the controversy and watch Dance, will find a great story and excellent animation. This is not the previously released TV-MA version. The newest release is un-edited.
