Dexter started off as one of the most original shows in years.  And, when it came to serial killer fare, it was head and shoulders above the rest.  Knocking out the stereotypical maniacal killer and replacing it with a likeable pro-antagonist that you routinely route for.

QUALITY:
Good.  The picture is clear with a bit of grain here and there especially when it comes to the dark transitions.

BONUS FEATURES:
Featurettes, 2 episodes of The Tudors, 2 episodes of United States of Tara, interviews.

Showtime has gotten into the habit of including a ton of other show's episodes on their DVDs as bonus features.  Though this is a great bonus, it should be an extra "bonus" DVD on it's own, it shouldn't take the place of bonus features for the actual show I'm watching.  Afterall, it's not exactly like United States of Tara and Dexter will necessarily have the same audience.  That aside, the high definition quality could use a little work as I believe the TV broadcast version was actually a bit better.  All in all, a decent set, but it leaves a little to be wanted.
