When it comes to Hetalia, let me be honest, I’m not a big fan. To me this is the Jonas Brothers (or whatever cute teen sensation is sweeping the nation now) of anime. It’s basically a history lesson wrapped with a giant syrupy blanket of fan service. If you’re a hardcore Otaku then you’re more then likely in it just to hear your favorite voice over actors and actresses saying silly things in a variety of voices. I mean, come on, the episodes run a mere five minutes a piece. However, the show always fascinates me that despite its puppy dog eyed approach it manages to dispense some history along with its zany silliness.

Hetalia World Series: Season 3 is more of the same. Plenty of colorful inky eye candy for the fans of the series, and a history lesson that more then likely goes unnoticed to the uninitiated. This release runs two hours long and comes with two discs; One disc holds all 24 episodes of season 3 and the other holds the bonus features.

Bonus features included are:
~3 Commentary tracks: I’m usually not one to listen to the commentary tracks but since the episodes are so short I figured why not. If you thought the show was a bit shallow to begin with just wait until you hear the commentary tracks. I think the most memorable, and unfortunate, quote from the commentary is when one of the voice actors comments that wiping for him is like smearing peanut butter into a shag carpet. Not even sure how we got to that point on the commentary track but there it is.
~Textless Songs
~Trailers
~Several fan event segments where the original Japanese cast members show up to meet fans or unveil the series to fans. There are no fan event segments that feature the American voice over team.
~Outtakes: Oddly enough I laughed the most here. Basically just voice over cast members blowing their lines and little kids saying the worst things they can think of (only a couple of them are actually shocking).
~Official Hetalia Bandana: Like the Paint It White Hetalia Movie you get a free Hetalia Bandana. The color I received in the last Hetalia product I reviewed was Green, this one is purple.

I think that if you’ve followed the series to this point your going to grab up this release regardless of what I say. If your just jumping in I think Hetalia is a series that allows you to jump in just about anywhere. You may love it or you may just shrug at it. As always final judgment is yours. Enjoy.
