Martin Sheen is in final negotiations to play Uncle Ben in Columbia’s new Spider-Man movie.

 The actress is in early talks to play Peter Parker’s beloved aunt in the new Spider-Man movie, which Marc Webb is directing for Columbia.

Last we heard, the protracted saga was still dragging on, and Dan Aykroyd had taken over the script from Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg.

James Cameron confirmed that he is in talks to direct a 3D Cleopatra film starring Angelina Jolie.

He seemed, for a while, to have left the comicbook action roles behind, returning to Europe for the likes of Claire Denis' White Material and Sophie Marceau's Trivial.

Nothing is 100% confirmed just yet, but according to Deadline, Sony has just offered the main villain role in the new Spider-Man movie to Rhys Ifans.

The January 2012 release date for the fourth Underworld  was announced a few weeks ago, but a few more Underworld 4 details have now been confirmed.

Sony's crime thriller "Takers" has overtaken Lionsgate's horror pic "The Last Exorcism" for box office bragging rights from the past weekend.
