Doyle

Doyle

Legendary Ex-Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein has broken new ground with his solo project, “DOYLE”. A horror based hardrock/metal band of epic proportions, this quartet consists of two ex-Misfits members. Still grinding out heavy riffs is the hulking monster himself, Doyle, and bashing skins behind the kit is none other than the Abominable Dr.Chud. We talk it up with the legendary Doyle himself.

SHAKEFIRE (SF):
It's been over half a decade since your last studio release. What have you been up to?
DOYLE WOLFGANG VON FRANKENSTEIN (DOYLE):
I have been writing with lex StorAy since 2008. We wrote 38 songs we have two and half albums ready to go and we're almost finished recording the second one. The third one were gonna write more songs before we record it.
SF:
You are one of the legendary figures in the history of punk music. Do you feel that punk gets enough recognition in the media (awards, hall of fame, etc)?
DOYLE:
Am I really? I don't think punk rockers get enough recognition. I think we will have to die to get recognition Joe Ramone had to die to get a fucking street named after him. For us to get into the Hall of Fame will have to die
SF:
Any plans for a headlining tour for DOYLE?
DOYLE:
No headlining plans for Doyle right now we want to open up for awesome bands like Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Lamb of God bands like that for a while until we see we got a good following and then we will do it. I don't care if it takes two CDs to do it
SF:
What is the one thing you would say to Misfits fans prior to them listening to "Abominator"?
DOYLE:
I would say get your fucking shit kickin boots on we're rock ya balls off with this !! get ready to get fucked up
SF:
Was there ever any talk of Glenn appearing on "Abominator" in any form?
DOYLE:
No
SF:
Do you plan to continue DOYLE past "Abominator" or is this just a single project?
DOYLE:
I plan to continue for the rest of my existence doing "DOYLE" the second album is almost done we just need to title it and do the artwork and it's ready to get mixed
SF:
You have been touring fairly consistently for a while now. Where did you find the time to work on "Abominator"?
DOYLE:
The question is when do I have time to do anything else but work on abominator
SF:
How many tracks did you write for "Abominator"? Any plans for the ones that didn't make the cut?
DOYLE:
38... most on the second cd
SF:
Are there other artists in the horror-punk genre that you would recommend to fans of your music?
DOYLE:
I don't follow horror punk I don't even know who's in it
SF:
I think people were initially surprised when you and Glenn began performing a full set of Misfits songs on tour. Do you feel that is the closest fans will get to a Misfits reunion?
DOYLE:
I fucking hope not I would love to do the Misfits with Glenn and Jerry and an awesome drummer make a new record tour it and just blow peoples minds!! That's what they want anyway. I'd like to shove it down the fucking throats..I'm in got to get the other two knuckleheads together.
SF:
The common name that comes up in the rifts involving The Misfits is your brother, Jerry Only. How is your relationship with him now, both professionally and personally?
DOYLE:
There is no professional relationship whatsoever and he's my brother and I love him
