Twilight Thursdays! Vol. 1, Issue 22

Eclipse opened this week and the news is still non-stop! If you haven’t seen it yet, color me shocked! However, you should also check out my review (I’d love to know if you agree or disagree, so make some comments!) of the film and the interview I had with Daniel Cudmore (Felix) on last Saturday’s Twilight Night.  If you missed anything from the Eclipse premier, I've made a special section for you! Tons of red carpet interviews and HQ photos await.

As we fans knew it would, Eclipse has broken box office records for midnight showings and midnight IMAX showings. Variety reports,

“Summit's "Eclipse" kicked off the Fourth of July frame Tuesday night with record-breaking midnight totals, earning more than $30 million at some 4,000 engagements.

The "Twilight" franchise's third outing, which surpassed predecessor "New Moon" ($26.2 million) for the latenight crown, will expand to 4,437 locations on Friday, the largest count to date.
"Eclipse" reps the third offering in author Stephenie Meyer's best-selling vampire book series, which follows human Bella (Kristen Stewart) and her other-worldly suitors, vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Eclipse is the first summer, midweek launch for the franchise, as well as the inaugural "Twilight" film to partner with large-screen exhibit Imax.

Imax posted north of $1 million from 192 late night runs, surpassing the $959,000 record set last year by Par's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."”

With all the rumors swirling around Kristen & Robert—Are they off? Are they on? I’ve just been indifferent. I also liked the way they handled it. If they came out as a couple or said that they weren’t a couple, it’s not like the speculation would stop. It would only get worse!

But it looks like those halcyon days might be over for the pair. Producer Wyck Godfrey out them in an interview with Time:

Everyone is talking about whatever is going on between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Is that good for business?
Do you want the honest answer? I haven't even thought of it that way.

That's not the honest answer.
It really is. I honestly don't think of it in terms of business. It doesn't affect our core business at all. The thing I do think about is, Oh my God, I hope they stay together. Because it could be awkward on set in the next movie if they have a huge falling out. It's like, Wow, they have to portray this love story through two more movies. God, I hope they stay together; please stay together. That's what affects my day-to-day.

But you walk by newsstands and it's a publicist's dream: they are on every cover.
I don't feel it's out there anymore. Do people still report on it? If you look at people who have a stable personal life, the rags get tired of them. I think we're heading to that place where they are together and that's their life and we better find someone new to create drama out of.

The secret’s out! What do YOU think? Let us know in the comments below!

Metric’s “Eclipse (All Yours)” is the second release from the Eclipse soundtrack. I really love it and if you pay attention you can hear a piano version during the film

You can also hear the piano version on the Twilight Saga: Eclipse Score which is now available!

The Official Illustrated Companion for Eclipse is also available now.

This, however, is one track you won’t find on any soundtrack, but should be required listening for every Twilighter. All of the Twilight Eclipse trailers and TV spots all rolled into one remix!

And of course, the Twilight Theme song! I love the Jacob+Edward duet

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner has sold incredibly well. Especially considering that you can read it online for free. The AP reports,

“"The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella" has scored sales of more than 1 million copies in the U.S. since its June 5 release.

Publisher Little, Brown Books for Young Readers said Monday it now ranks as the year's best-selling book so far. It had debuted on several best-seller lists in the U.S., as well as in numerous countries around the world.

The novella follows the adventures of Bree Tanner, a newborn vampire introduced in the "Twilight" volume "Eclipse."

In less than five years, nearly 100 million copies of the "Twilight Saga" teen-vampire books have been sold in nearly 50 countries, said Little, Brown.”

This also means that $1 Million has been donated to the Red Cross, as $1 from every book purchased goes to their coffers. Congratulations!

Bits of Breaking Dawn
I know everyone’s also wondering about Breaking Dawn! Only 505 days left. But what will be left in the movie? What about the love scenes? How in the world can it remain PG-13?! Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told People that we can definitely expect some more heat on the romance front

"You will see sex – Yes!"Breaking Dawn and Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told PEOPLE at the Eclipse premiere in L.A. Thursday night. "The relationship [between Pattinson's Edward and Stewart's Bella] does go all the way in the book, so in the movie, it will as well. You are going to see more skin in Breaking Dawn than you did in the other films."

But don't expect any XXX antics. "Will it be pornographic? – That, I do not know," Rosenberg said with a laugh. "I don't know if it has to be R-rated, but it has to be what the book is, which means more skin. ... I will definitely be writing more skin."

Reelz Channel also talked to Wyck Godfrey about location scouting. Looks like they’ll be heading down south!
