On The Color Morale’s third LP release to date the band hit their fans with 12 new tunes, almost 50 minutes of hard hitting music. If you’re a fan chances are you’re going to love the album. If your not, well, time will tell.

I wasn’t too impressed by the bands latest outing. Covering so many bands that sound similar and use the same type of formula I might just have a biased ear, but a majority of the album sounded as if it was just one long song going on and on.

Like most Hardcore/Post Hardcore outfits on the scene the band incorporates a clean/loud formula on vocals, shredding guitars, relentless drums, and driving bass sound. I could head into a long and drawn out comparison thread about who sounds similar, but I think if you’ve been into the genre this band is slotted into you’re going to hear what I hear.

Unfortunately, and I’ve said it time and time again, for a genre where a majority of the vocals are unheard because their screamed out, it would be beneficial for bands of this scene to have their label send lyrics with their promo’s. If you can’t form an opinion on the lyrics what’s left to cover? The brutal staple sound of a genre with far too many bands all incorporating the same style.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this album but I’m one person. They do have the album streaming in its entirety over at youtube so hit them up there to see if they float your boat or not.
