I’ll just come straight out and say that I was not impressed by this CD and there are several different reasons why. For starters every song on the album is some Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga rip off. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same production company that writes music for singers or groups like those two aren’t the same exact ones behind the entirety of this albums music. If not someone is in for some plagiarism charges. For another thing I’m riding around town picking up my nephews so they can come hang out at my house and watch a new movie and I throw this CD on and we come across a track called Not Too Young. I don’t want the praise or the fake stuff/all I want is us/Yeah I might be young but I’m old enough. In or out of context I thought this track was pushing the envelope for a kids album. Yet another factor would be that the entire disc is made of up tracks that are digitally manipulated. I’m not saying there isn’t a following for this type of music, Disney has been pushing it since the Hilary Duff age. Also included in the CD is a second disc, a DVD disc, that features five instructional dance video’s with the show choreographer Rosero McCoy. The kids took one look at it and lost interest. Again, I’m sure there’s a market for this stuff out there, especially in this day and age when most teen films are about singing and dancing. I just see it as Disney trying to promote what sells to keep it alive as long as possible while giving the kids hope that one day they too may become a singer, actor, or dancer. In its own way that’s sweet but all I see is business and dollars when I come across something like this. As always, final judgment is yours. Enjoy. |
