Title: Exit 33 Starring: Kane Hodder, Antoinette Nikprelaj, Jerry Reid Director: Tommy Brunswick Studio: Breaking Glass Pictures Runtime: 83 minutes Release Date: August 2, 2011 Format: DVD Discs: 1 MPAA Rating: Rating: ( )Grade: D Part-time gas attendant, full-time creepo, Ike, (Hodder) has a fascination for taxidermy and stupid tourists on their way through his neck of the woods. Each of them takes "Exit 33" and yes, you can imagine the rest...engage in bad dialogue and do unbelieveably stupid things. People drive and text, talk to strangers, die horrible deaths, blah blah blah. The opening credits are a total rip off of "True Blood" that are neither interesting and go on for far too long. Honestly, I don't want to see anybody butcher an animal. Yuck. There isn't really as much gratuitous gore as one might expect, but even the deliberate omission of it just makes it worse because now it seems like the filmmakers don't even want to make the effort. Either that or they had even less than zero money which is probably more accurate. The biggest draw is supposed to be Kane Hodder who portrayed Jason Vorhees in "Friday the 13th: Parts VII-X" which don't really count do they? I mean, did anyone actually see parts VII-X? Well, let's just say Hodder didn't do himself any favors by agreeing to be in this cinematic mess. Maybe the worst of all is watching Hodder try to act. This is a guy who made his "career" wearing a hockey mask and hacking up teenagers. He should have kept the mask on. Amazon prices this little gem at $21.99, but also asks "what other items do customer buy after viewing this item?" and show "Thor" for $17.99. The latter is the far better movie. |
