Did You Know?

Rapper Bonecrusher, who appears on the films soundtrack, also appears in the film.

I listened to Super Zeroes the OST before putting in the movie. The round up instantly made me wonder if this film was just going to be about a group of stoners getting smoked out, drinking beers, and finding out they have super powers and doing very little with them, well, anything useful. It was also obvious that the film would take place in a country culture state. Not much by way of  navigation when it came to the grouping of the tracks, a lot of hip hop with a country twist, some straight country tunes, and some humorous numbers, one even from the cast of the film.

The soundtrack features new tunes from Bubba Sparxxx/14NI, Colt Ford, Montgomery Gentry,  and Kottonmouth Kings. I really did enjoy the Bubba Sparxxx track. It reminded me a bit of Prof but with a countrified flare to it. The Kottonmouth Kings track was just more of the same. If it was omitted I don’t think anyone would have noticed. The new John Anderson/Colt Ford track was another miss. I really enjoyed the Montgomery Gentry/Charlie Daniels/Randy Owen song I Like Those People. Great tune. Black Berry Smoke’s One Horse Town was another winner. Even Rehab’s Dumb Song had some appeal. The rest of the album I could give or take.

The Film really didn’t do much for me. It’s the story of two brothers and their roomate who own an outhouse business. One of the brothers is an aggressive ladies man, the other is a quiet shy type, and the roommate plays the comic relief. One night a meteor hits their house causing strange changes in a couple of the guys. Nothing super amazing happens. The film is basically built up around a lot of really stupid gag setups that are funny stupid, but nothing to write home about. It seemed to me to be somewhat like an American Strange Brew type of film, Could have been fun, but ends up being forgettable.
