Elmo and Friends The Letter Quest and Other Magical Tales combines three stories that kids will love starring their favorite Sesame Street friends plus some celebrities that even their parents can enjoy watching. The DVD even comes with a bonus feature starring Ernie and Bert with Elmo in a claymation short. Just long enough to make for a quick break in the day but not so long parents will be trapped in kiddie land forever.

The stories include The Letter “Y” Quest which incorporates the long taught lesson that adventures await by reading a book and letting your imagination do the rest. Telly, Elmo, and Abby all star in this quest, as “Knights For A Day” trying to help the letter Y. The Shoe Fairy, my favorite of the three, stars Abby and Telly. Abby has just learned the wonders of wearing shoes thanks to the Shoe Fairy, played by Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), and wants to share the experience with Telly. A shoetastrophe ensues including a big musical number. Hilarious. Finally The Cookie Touch, a variation on the story of King Midas, stars Cookie Monster. When Cookie finds out there will be no more cookies until the next day he wishes that he could somehow make cookies appear on the spot. The Cookie Fairy appears, played by Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy), and gives him “The Cookie Touch”. While it is the story of the Midas Touch its, of course, more kid friendly. The bonus feature, Wizards. Starring Ernie and Bert with Elmo runs a little over 5 minutes and incorporates the claymation filming technique. Its just a fun little bonus feature. All together kids will love it and parents will get a good laugh out of it. Well worth checking out. Enjoy.
