Sterling Huddle Oppenheim & Craft is one of the most prestigious law firms in all of Los Angeles. Five new hotshot lawyers, fresh out of college are about to get their chance at the big leagues. This is the real world though, and these newbies are going to have to prove themselves if they want to survive in the fast moving, high demanding business that is law.

Dylan Hewitt, along with Liam, Addy, Beth and Malcolm, is one of the sharpest minds in the country but all that means nothing when he arrives to his first day on the job. Already in the first episode, tensions mount as the first years struggle to find their place in the company. Difficult decisions are to be made and some people's heads are soon to be on the chopping block. It's just another day in the office.

While the show may seem like just another comedy, it's actually quite different. Throughout the first episode, we're given scenes that are humorous and then more dramatic scenes. The Deep End hasn't decided on whether it wants to be a comedy or a drama yet and that is what worries me. The funny parts are just that, funny. Taking place at a law firm, there are a few intellectual jokes but for the most part, it's something everyone can laugh at. Throwing in some more serious moments regarding the management of the firm and the show shifts away from the laugh factor. It hasn't found the right mix between the two yet but give it a few more episodes and I think we'll be there.

Matt Long plays the main character Dylan and he is spot on for the role. He is joined by a cast that includes Tina Majorino, Billy Zane, and Clancy Brown. It's good to see that all of them can produce both funny and serious moments in the show although it's easy to see which characters are going to be the hard asses and which might end up getting the boot.

The Deep End should be able to stay afloat in this sea of comedies this year. It tends to follow the same formula only in a different setting but manages to receive a good amount of laughs. The first episode leaves us with quite a rousing hanger so I look forward to the next.

The Cast!!!

I'm not a huge fan of legal dramas, with only a few exceptions, but I'm gonna watch this show. This cast has drawn me to the series... I mean, Billy Zane and Mehcad Brooks? Enough said.

The Crew & the cast:)

My aunt worked on the set. Said it looked like it would be a great show:) Can't wait!
